Opryland Here We Come!
Greetings NBCC'ers,
We are just wrapping up the final details on the EuroFest location. Those of you who attended the Christmas party already know that the show will be held inside the Ryman C exhibit hall of the Opryland Hotel the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. We (Bob McKoewn, Mike Gillespie and myself) have been a little skeptical about having the show there for several reasons, obviously price was first, where do we go from here if we can't do it at Opryland next year, etc. After our meeting of Jan. 4 (and subsequent) with the top dogs in the marketing and sales departments all doubt has been erased and they (Opryland) are already looking to next years event! To say they have bent over backwards to accommodate us would be an understatement of epic proportions. This is gearing up to be over the top by regional car show standards. This hall is just under 153,000 square feet. Just think (Mop), no tables, chairs, or tents to lug around! Our initial inspection showed no evidence of pigeons either! This will give us the opportunity to bring back the feel of earlier NBCC shows allowing almost unlimited vendor, swap, for sale and display areas. Not to mention day of show registration. I bet you are wondering what all of this excitement will set you back. Registration will be $10 and spectators will be free. Display and for sale areas will require some discussion. Many of you do not enter your cars in the show because they are regular drivers and not in show condition, but you said you would pay a small amount to display the car and to help the show. I can appreciate that but it begs a few questions. How much is fair? $5 would be my answer especially since that would be less than parking in the Oland parking
