Welcome To Summer!
Well summer is finally here with a vengeance. I hope everyone has been
keeping their cooling systems maintained. Check out this months tech tips
for more on this subject. Those of you who opted not to take the casino
trip last month really missed a treat. Cindy and I had only been to a casino
once before, about 12 years ago, and really did not know anything about
gambling. We had
a great time! We learned a lot about what to play and how to play it
and we will be going back very soon. We have quite a few events coming
up over the next couple of months involving other clubs as well as ours
so check out the events calendar below. There are several events scheduled
for the cooler evening hours including great music, movies and more so
I hope to see you out and about soon!
Events Upcoming
August 10th- NBCC picnic and ice cream tour. Those of you
wishing to picnic meet at the Centennial Park bandshell at 12:30
for a leisurely picnic. Those of you wishing to take a drive through
the country to Stratton’s in Ashland City can join up with the picnic’ers
at 1:30 or so for a nice easy ride to this throwback to the ‘60’s
diner serving great sandwiches (we ate there after the Clarksville
tour in June), shakes, malteds and other goodies.

in Grand Rapids MI. 616-682-9006*
August 30th- NBCC and A-H Club combined tour to Beachaven
Winery in Clarksville. This is to be Beachaven’s big end of summer
bash. As a lot of you already know the Winery has a monthly concert
series through the summer and this is the big one. The band scheduled
to play is Bada Bing
Bada Boom. This is a swing band that plays original music that Cindy
and I have been listening to for a couple of years now and they are GREAT!
If you don’t believe me ask Robbie and Tami. If you like music, you
will like this band! Bring chairs or a blanket, a cooler and whatever
else you may need and meet us at Fountain Square Mall at 5:30 P.M.
The mall is just north of I-265 on 8th Ave. which at that point is Metro
Center Blvd.
Sept. 6th- NBCC and A-H Club combined tour to Franklin,
KY. We will met at Hunter’s Lane High School which is just north
of Old Hickory Blvd. on Dickerson Rd. From I-65, head west on OH Blvd.
to Dickerson, then turn right. At the first light turn left and the entrance
to the parking lot is on the right. Be there around 4:30. We will head
to a little antique shop which is right next door to the restaurant
where we will eat dinner. After that it’s just a hop skip and a jump
to the drive in theatre. At the drive in you will need an FM radio. A good
portable radio will do nicely if you do not have one in your car. The price
is $5 per CAR and the feature is 2B announced later.
Sept. 13-14th- NBCC tour to Bellbuckle, Wartrace and
other points southeast. We will be
leaving kind of early on this tour and you have the option of
